Dear Shaded Viewers,
As the base of her 'Confidences' couture collection Anne Valerie Hash asked numerous personalities to entrust her with a garment that they felt represented their personalities. Once Anne Valerie had the precious pieces she studied them, dismantled them and then they were all reinvented and transformed. Daphne Guiness, Bettina Rheims, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alber Elbaz, Tilda Swinton, Charlotte Rampling, Peter Doherty, Irina Lazareanu and I were among the personalities that collaborated with Anne Valerie on her poetic adventure.
I gave her a black veil from one of my collections from the mid 80's. Rodger Duncan was a dear friend of mine and used to make all of my illustrations. For one of my collections he painted my profile on a large black transparent silk scarf. Over the years the line has all but disappeared. I was very happy with the transformation.
