Fassbinder has always been in my top 5, thought you might be interested in hearing about his “single take” approach to filmmaking.
When I was a designer I dreamed of working with Fassbinder, the closest I ever got to that was doing the costumes for an Amos Gitai film where my job was to dress the two principal actors: Hannah Schygulla and Vittorio Mezzogiorno. This involved a visit to Hannah Schygulla’s apartment in Paris and a look through her closet. When you walked in the door the first thing facing you was a portrait of Fassbinder.
