by daniel wakahisa for a shaded view [part 2 out of 4]
i wake up in cold sweat
a coachman and his carriage
his accent dense as sacher
he invites me to take a seat
it's sunday he says–
and vienna is still asleep
prostitution, drugs, starbucks
these streets are full of treats
but you look like a proper lad
so i won't dwell on all that–
that makes me sad
invite a friend he adds
someone you admire
for loneliness here is crime
and today is a beautiful day–
dressed in sunlight and rhyme
i do have someone in mind
someone i admire and aspire
so before our journey began
i asked the coachman please–
stop at the ring and collect
diane
dear shaded readers,
these postcards i entrust thee
of a distant land not so far away
keep them i swear they're yours
vienna the best place to live–
coachmen, horses and whores
later,
daniel
