Dear Shaded Viewers,
Jaap Scheeren photographs reality as he wants it to be. It does not mean that it cannot exist so. He adjusts the world until it suits him. Wherever in the world he travels he finds those a bit unreal disturbing situations when you might think you are dreaming or that you are in some other time.
The basis for the project ,,3 Roses, 9 Ravens, 12 Months” was a list of scenes and images found in particular Slovak fairy tales by Samuel Czambel and Pavel Dob_insk.Jaap decided to search situations and scenes in Slovakia that would remind him of the atmosphere from Dob_insk fairy tales.
