AltaRomaAltaModa “When in Rome, do as the Romans Do” by Pascal Gautrand at the Galleria Valentina Moncada

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I leave Rome on Sunday in order to be back in Paris for the final selection for the 24th edition of the Hyeres festival. That said , unfortunately I will miss many of the shows. I passed by the Galleria Valentina Moncada today to get a preview of the exhibition of designer Pascal Gautrand.

Pascal Gautrand explained his concept to me, a basic Zara men's shirt was taken to a series of different tailors in Rome, hence the map of the city marking the address of each tailor. The Zara shirt was remade in the individual style of each of the tailors. The cost of the custom made shirts varied from 60 EUROS to 500 EUROS. Naturally there were differences in the quality of the workmanship and the fabric but each bore an embroidered logo saying Rome. In addition to the shirt installation, Pascal made a video with different people telling their stories about their own shirts.
