Being in Colombia, I stopped by to visit the shop of my favorite Colombian based designer Olga Piedrahita.
One
of the reasons I love this place is because In Colombia, the
relationship between the designer and their clients remains quite
direct, so the "boutique-atelier" is the most common formula to have a
space to receive your clients and to control the production of the
garments… Olga's though, works also as a place for art installations
and special projects by others like "alegoria"(see my next post), and
her windows are always tempting to watch.
After 30 years of work she has earned her place in the national and international fashion world.
Thanks
to her professional experience and to her education in dance and
contemporary art, she has constructed her own language, she has her
devoted followers and we can say that she's one of the very few conceptual
designers in Colombia.
