Dear Shaded Viewers,
Marina and Leon would like to send their love to Diane.
These three also claim to know her.
Backstage at Maria Bonita some models were holding a sign saying "spectacles".
I held one too, but didn’t get any.
One of Diane’s favourite shows last season. One of my favourites this season.
One of the most expected cargo from Japan this season, Tokyo’s Bunka Gakuen arrived with a selection of extraordinary pieces from their "ex-students".
This exhibition is one of the main highlights of this season’s SPFW.
For many visitors this is their first (and perhaps also their last)
chance to see and touch the works of designers such as Kenzo Takada,
Yohji Yamamoto, Rei Kawakubo, Jun Takahashi.
It’s no surprise many were asking to be photographed next to these masterpieces. So that they may one day tell their children it wasn’t just a dream.
Melissa also had a neon dream on display. For those who’ve never been to Shinjuku.
On sale in September, the new Melissa by Zaha Hadid. Also available in Diane’s favourite colour.
Backstage at Cori. Designers Dudu Bertholini and Rita Comparato (who also design for Neon) were inspired by their last trip to Mexico.
In an recent interview, Dudu mentioned Auchaca as the highlight of their trip. Being in Peru, and not Mexico I wonder if the Divine Cactus had anything to do with it.
Only a few of us were allowed backstage to photograph Alexandre Herchcovitch’s menswear collection. What I saw was so beautiful I had to switch on the anti-shaking mode of my camera.
Backstage at Animale.
Unfortunately I didn’t manage to greet Animale’s owner Claudia Jatahy,
as she was nowhere to be found. But since her children go to the same
school as my nephews in Rio do, I know I will see her in the next
school party.
I might also invite these two.
Later,
Daniel
