The Lucy location. The name was inspired by the song Lucy in the Sky with diamonds. Antwerp is known for it’s diamond trade.
Dear Shaded Viewers,
Lucy is a guerrilla project that starts in October and finishes five months later. The idea is to have a reasonably priced and comfortable restaurant, two art spaces, a sound studio and a projection space for film screenings and performances. Artists can dispose of the spaces however they wish, that includes painting the ceilings and the floors. The iconic Andy Warhol factory in NYC was a reference for Lucy. The space will be neutral and adapt to whatever art, music or film is on exhibition. While I was visiting the Vitrine David Flamee from FFI introduced me to Mathias, one of the two major forces behind Lucy. Mathias showed me his plans. They wanted to know my thoughts on the space as a venue for You Wear it Well 2.
