Dear Shaded Viewers,
Joey McMakin is an American designer living and working in Italy. His childhood passion for shoes became his profession. Some of his current designs make me think a bit of Pierre Cardin and Courreges.
Often his inspirations come from his immense collection of vintage shoes. He would rather create by instinct than by following the trends. We had a funny conversation at the Chloe show this past season, he was very happy to see all of the brightly colored shoes.
“This Season”, explains the designer, ” I tried to inject a positive feeling after a rigid fall/winter”, shapes, colours and materials were entwined together to illuminate and create a bright atmosphere; each style breathes simplicity. Classic colours mixed together with new shades and intricate materials give birth to accessories that accentuate sensuality.”
