A note from Ninette Murk and Javier Barcala
As we haven’t found subsidies for DAA yet -although we receive a lot
of media attention and help from designers and artists worldwide- we
have opened a fundraising store for DAA on eBay
(http://stores.ebay.com/Designers-against-Aids), where we hope to raise
enough money to be able to continue our work until we get subsidies.
We’re currently applying for project subsidies for our new DAA website
and hope to get the go-ahead this autumn.
We will put our own stock of DAA designer t-shirts in the eBay store
and other new products that we want to ask from wellknown and emerging
designers, artists, musicians etc.
I’m sure that many fashion houses/labels and galleries will like to
donate items to the DAA fundraising store (maybe from earlier
seasons), as it will be brilliant PR (we want to do a big
campaign/mailing about the store once we have more products there)
-plus it will help us to continue our work. It’s too important to give
up now!
If you can help us find/get items for the new store, we’d be very
grateful indeed.
