In Kyoto with Madame Ikuko Nakano and Madame Setsuko Sugahara

Do you remember how Shoji and I met the two ladies from Kyoto at Toraya in the end of October and then they invited us to the Ritz Hotel to meet them for a tea? I had the idea to make a short film on them but I needed more material.

Shoji is from Kyoto and he’s there now on Christmas holiday. The other day he went to meet Madame Nakano and Sugahara for a tea. When they asked him where he wanted to go, Shoji said it would be nice to go somewhere with a beautiful garden.

They met at a hotel in Kyoto, that is where the Christmas tree at the end was taken. Then they drove for 30 minutes and arrived at a beautiful Japanese Old School House.

Of course , in my mind I imagined Shoji visiting the two elegant ladies in their homes.

It could be a few more years until that happens.

It would have been nice to have been there as well. No closet visits but a few more Kelly bags.
