Dear Shaded Viewers,
The beautiful Maria Luisa was on the plane with me and Catherine from Michele Montaigne.the PR for Anne Valerie Hash. I heard that they sent Anne Valerie’s collection last Friday and it was stuck in the Swiss customs until tonight. Nothing like a little added stress but all is fine now. Robb Young, who is handling the international press for the event greeted the three of us at the airport. That was a pleasant surprise.

I had a little chat with Maria Luisa about India, they invited me again for March and this time I’ll get the visa in advance and about Belgrade. She goes directly from Zurich to Belgrade. Robin, the guy with the most style in Paris, will meet her there and he’s accepted to be my Belgrade correspondent for this event. Didier Grumbach is going there as well. Looking forward to that.
Aside from fashion weeks around the planet, I finally asked Maria Luisa what the Azzedine platform boots that I love actually costs. I’ve been afraid to ask as I know if I try them on that I’ll never have the will power to resist. Answer – l,080 EUR. Ummmm dreaming of them. What I love about Azzedine and haven’t found elsewhere, is that he has mastered how to make something beautiful and comfortable at the same time and frankly one without the other does not work for me, at least not for shoes.
Here are a few photographs from dinner. I had a nice time talking with Claudio La Cioppa of Jakob Schlaepfer, I used to use his fabrics when I was a designer, Polina Kitsenko the owner of Podium, my favorite shop in Moscow, I met Mamiko Hasegawa and her daughter, Mamiko has one of the best shops in Tokyo Addition Adelaide www.adelaide-addition.com. You know how it is at a long table, you speak with the people that are around you. I was happy with the ones around me so that was already a good point. Robb was at the dinner with the jury and the designers, I was with Christian who won last year’s 100,000 EUR Swiss Textile prize and the nominators and different fabric manufacturers from Swiss Textiles. I invited all of them to join IQONS.COM. Afterall we have textile designers already on the site so the balance to that is to have the manufacturers and like wise designers and the best shops. That is how I see IQONS.com working.
