Day 2 Athens and a visit to Vassilis Zidianakis and his RRRRRIP! Paper Dress exhibit at the Benake Museum and a visit to Life Style Death

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Benakimuseumreadyfor

Last night I told you that I spoke with Vassilis Zidianakis about his paper dress exhibit at the Benaki Museum. This morning Lydia, her husband and I went over to get a preview.

The Paper Dress phenomenom was something that existed for two years in the USA in the late 60’s. At that time people would buy the dresses for less than a dollar or else they would win a dress with the price of a pizza. You would wear the dress a few times and then throw it away. Now of course if you would like to buy a paper dress it could cost you about 2,000$. Vassilis has collected more than 230 of these dresses. One of his favorites is the yellow pages, mine is the Bob Dylan.

After our private preview we all walked over to the restaurant Sardelles to meet the rest of the group for lunch and then Nic and I went off to visit Life Style Death showroom that was just around the corner from our lunch. I thought that I had taken a few pictures of the lunch but somehow they have disappeared. Lunch was delicious.

After our visit we tried to catch a taxi to go back to the hotel before returning to the location for the shows.
