Officiers des Arts et des lettres in France – Iggy Pop and Patti Smith by rock and roll photographer Sue Rynski

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I’ve been asking Sue to send me the images I love of Patti Smith and Iggy Pop that she took of Patti in 1978 at the Masonic Auditorium, Detroit and at the Second Chance, Ann Arbor in l978. The two images of Iggy and the Stooges are from a performance at the Effervessonne Festival, Stade Robert Bobin in Bondoufle, France Saturday June 2005.

Iggy is a “Chevalier” ie, lowest rank, whereas Patti received the highest honor “Commandeur” directly She was decorated by the current Culture Minister, Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres, last summer at the Solidays festival.
