Dear Shaded Viewers,
I posted some images earlier in the month when I visited the Maison Martin Margiela but here are a few more for your viewing pleasure.
I’m in love with the Martin Margiela motorcycle saddle bag, tried it on in the showroom. Not sure how much it would weigh once I start putting in my camera, mic, etc. etc.
All of the above are Maison Martin Margiela
Twice a year I teach a 4 week design seminar at the Paris Fashion Institute located at Cite Universite. One of my ex-students, Levi Palmer, is now designing jewelry and is about to enter Central Saint Martins in the fall.
He had wanted to make something for me and I told him that what I would like is a few silver insects. I’ve been wearing a 100 year old fly in my turban lately and I thought that she’d like a few friends. The insect idea inspired his new collection. He also put me in touch with his new friend J T Leroy, I loved Sarah, and I hope that we can meet while he is in Paris this week. He’s on a pretty tight schedule so who knows, would be nice if it happens. In the meantime you might enjoy reading J T Leroy’s journal/blog today and a great critic on Tim Burton’s latest film,Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or as he puts it Wonka vs Wonka.
Later,
Diane
