Yoshiko creations and Steve Hamon, Kai Kuhne in FWD and his new Myself collection

Dear Shaded Viewers,

While I was in  Kazakhstan with Robb Young there were a few articles in the press about two designers that I appreciate. First, Raf Simons, as everyone most likely knows by now, is the new creative director at Jil Sander.  I’ve known about that for several months but was told by a good friend of mine that if I leaked a word of it, I would loose my head like Marie Antoinette, naturally I was not up for that. Ever since Raf won the Swiss Textiles award at Gwand  in November 2003, the offers have been pouring in and Raf started seeing things like collaborations, in a new light. I’m thrilled.

The other great news is that Kai Kuhne, formerly of As Four, has announced his new collection, Myself. When I saw him several months ago in Paris he had given me some news on that as well. Here is the link if you would like to read the article: http://p142.news.scd.yahoo.com/s/fwd/20050526/en_fashion_fwd/kai_kuhne.

A short video of the last collaboration with Kai and As Four, is on my site  under the illustration of me with the camera: As Four in Paris.

Yoshiko just sent me her new catalogue with my friend Steve Hamon as a model. I love what Yoshiko creates and also thought that you might enjoy a few images from her Le Petit Prince collection. You can see more images of this collection in my archives.

Later for my trip to Kazakhstan.

Take care,

Diane
