Opaline is a bit the new navy blue this season, yet not many could be said to have jumped on the trend with the same athletic grace Richard Nicoll has. Genuinely sponsored by Disney's own Tinkerbell, the show began with its pearl in the crown: a fibre optic slip dress of suave fluorescence, a shared dream with leading tech company Studio XO, whose sensational luminous weave didn't preclude its willowy, featherlight design. Allegedly designed as a lifestyle as much as a wardrobe, the whole collection plunged in the topical appeal of fitness, utility and meditation, suggestive of a spirituality that dips its toes in technology, to find them bathed in propitious light.
