While I was putting together my first collection i While I was putting together my first collection in New York I had collected antique clothes. Most either Victorian or 1930's all with hand work. I was open only 3 days a week from 1-5, rather limited hours but I wanted sales to help support my collection but did not want that to take too much of my time away from creating. I took this ad out and one of my first clients for this dress in black was Holly Woodlawn. That was a story in itself. Also it brought me a beautiful woman, Jan, #newyork #fashion whose husband wanted to back me with a store. It never happened but was fun for a while looking for real estate on the upper east side. In the end his accountant advised him against it and honestly it was too soon I did not know anything about the business.

It was a fun experience, not the greatest film but an opportunity to meet my childhood icons like Sophia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni, Lauren Bacall, Forest Whitaker and next to me Stephen Rea who played the Steven Meisel character.
