….when in fact, upon entering the backyard, he quickly mentioned, “ummmm…actually, the invite said, "wear something colorful."
Nevertheless, I embraced my inner Courtney-tella alone…como la flor de Selena….
Everyone loves Sir Heffington, aka Ryan Heffington, Los Angeles choreographer and costume designer. Friday, we gathered to celebrate him getting older. Ryan is co-founder of the Hysterica Dance Co. and one of the minds behind the sensational moving dance party / performancefest known as "Fingered." (We see him here, fresh from performing at his own birthday party, whispering to the wind….)
Ryan makes you want to slip into a full body, lion-headed unitard with an open mesh cod piece just to pop round to the supermarket to buy a box of Ho-Hos. He exudes that level of inspirational magnetism. (The cashier at my local mini-market will never be the same, however, after I performed such a stunt. She rang up my Ho-Hos, looked me dead in the cod piece and whispered, "Gross. At least trim a little around the edges…")
You might have seen Ryan years ago in the infamous "bend and snap" segment of the movie "Legally Blonde," where the Reese W. character teaches all the patrons how to attract the attention of a potential suitor. You know, you “Bend” over, exhibiting your rear to the air while picking up something that you intentionally dropped, and after you’ve successfully displayed to your suitor your exposed buttucus, you “Snap” back up, dangling both hands limply as if your wrists are broken.
In case you missed it, I found the clip on YouTube.
Check out the coughing and the crazy camera moves of the person who recorded the scene from the TV. Too many Red Bull / Nyquil cocktails during cold and flu season?
