Dear Shaded Viewers,
I’ve appreciated the dark side of Natalia Brilli’s accessories ever since my friend Robin Schulie, buyer for the Paris boutique Maria Luisa, offered me one of her cameos shrouded in black leather years ago. I wore it till it deconstructed.
Natalia Brilli was born in Belgium and schooled at La Cambre. She has designed sets and costumes for theatre and collaborated with fashion designers. She attended IFM in 2003 and decided to devote all of her energy to her life’s passion: fashion accessories. She is best known for her use of leather as sculpture. Hence my black leather shrouded cameo years ago.
When Olivier Theyskens was the designer at Rochas, Natalia was head of the accessories. Natalia decided to establish her own brand in 2005. She was given the Andam award for accessories in 2006.
