Dear Shaded Viewers,
The winner of this season’s L’Oreal Award, Jorge Vazquez’s collection plopped us down into a rain forest. At times, the maddening mix of live foliage, the floral-motif carpet on the runway and the clashing tropical prints on some of the ensembles felt like an explosion in a greenhouse. The collection worked best when Vazquez trotted out sophisticated monochromatic looks in red, pink and beige, with the occasional occurrence of statement jewelry.
