The Musée des Arts Décoratifs has invited rising fashion house ALAINPAUL to present its Fall/Winter 2026/27 ready-to-wear collection, titled [RÉPERTOIRE], on March 3 as part of Paris Fashion Week. This marks the latest instalment in the museum’s “Sur invitation / Mode” program, which spotlights young designers following its 2025 launch with Alphonse Maitrepierre.
ALAINPAUL, winner of the 2025 ANDAM Special Prize and led by designer Alain Paul—a former dancer with experience at Vetements and Louis Vuitton—draws from the museum’s vast archives of decorative arts, jewellery, fashion, and textiles. The collection reinterprets 18th-century influences, inspired by the upcoming exhibition “A Day in the 18th Century: Chronicle of a Private Mansion” (February 18–July 5, 2026), exploring clothing as a “repertoire” of body memory, gestures, and evolving silhouettes—echoing Paul’s ballet roots seen in his acclaimed SS26 “The Audition” show.

Post-show, eight key looks will animate the museum’s Rohan Hall, bridging historical archives with contemporary creation. Museum director Bénédicte Gady emphasised opening doors to young talents: “This house belongs to them!” General director Sophie-Justine Lieber added that hosting emerging creators fulfils the institution’s inspirational legacy.
ALAINPAUL stated: “Exploring the archives… I wanted to create a dialogue between past and future, exploring how clothing shapes the body across time.” Together, the runway show and exhibition strike an elegant balance: the Musée des Arts Décoratifs’ cultural richness elevates the collection, while ALAINPAUL infuses 18th-century dress with a refreshingly modern perspective.
