Paolo Carzana’s Poetically Disheveled AW25 Collection Reflects the State of the World Today by Bethany Berkeley

Dear Shaded Viewers,

For his Autumn/Winter 2025 show, Paolo Carzana opted for an intimate setting, inviting attendees into a space that reflected the raw and emotional core of his collection. Set in the historic The Holy Tavern in Clerkenwell, the collection titled “Dragons unwinged at the butchers block,” was woven with mysticism, and stitched with hand-crafted hope.

Carzana’s collection was hand-draped and hand-painted, brought vibrant depths to muted yellows, greens, and greys, highlighting his skillful balance of disarray and precision. Deconstructed vests and Madam Grès-inspired dresses, though appearing raw, were meticulously crafted.

For AW25, Carzana emphasised the beauty of minute detail, reinforcing his dedication to handmade artistry. He actively resists the conventional fashion model of factory production, choosing instead to ground his creative vision in the authenticity of craft, a direct counterpoint to the synthetic imagery of social media.
