Alexis Mabille Pours Us a Glass of Champagne. By Eliya Weinstein

Dear Shaded viewers,

Alexis Mabille’s Haute Couture show served the gold, glitz, and glamour of a tall glass of champagne. The Lido 2, a grand cabaret and theatre on Champs Elysees in Paris, was the perfect place to welcome guests and present the FW24-25 collection.

A myriad of fabrics came together, each chosen to reflect a quality of champagne and the dazzling woman who drinks it. Glittered organza, duchess satin, and crystal beading were amongst them, shaping full-length dresses with classic silhouettes. Sparkles adorned each dress. If it wasn’t in a glamorous, shimmery material then in sequin and bead adornments. Sheath dresses, corset-inspired detailing, and lamé capes were reimagined in a contemporary, playful spirit. The seduction of the feline was threaded throughout the collection. Two renditions of a sparkling leopard print and a trompe l’œil dress featuring a black cat highlighted the body’s natural curvature. The final look was a dazzling bridal catsuit in white micro-sequins, with a beaded tulle neckline finished with a black garter bow.

The spectacular Dita Von Teese raised from the ground in a larger-than-life, glittering champagne glass. She made a splash with a magnificent dance performance that closed the show and left a sweet taste behind.
