British gallery – West Contemporary celebrates 20 years on the art cake with a group show entitled -XX -Pop Up Show March 28th – April 1st to be staged in Fitzrovia – London.

Dear Shaded Viewers,

  • The West Contemporary show – XX   will feature leading names  in sustainability art, street art, sculpture, photography and mixed media highlighting a celebration of British fine art with a pop up show 28th March to 1st April 2023.  West Contemporary, formed as Beautiful Crime Gallery in 2003, started life at the turn of the 21st  century as the new millennium wave of British street art found its way from urban walls to gallery spaces with the emergence of the likes of Banksy in post Brit-pop Britain.

  • Beautiful Crime Gallery became an innovative fixture in this movement as the first online street art original gallery, combining a new home for original works from the burgeoning street scene with a bricks and mortar home in Shoreditch, East London that became a staple of shows, first exhibitions for emerging names and art events of note. Leaving in 2019 to graduate into an international art consultancy (West Contemporary) and an online gallery (West Contemporary Editions), the institution of art is now bringing together two-decades of partnerships under one room for the group show; XX’.

  • Amongst the Artists showing at XX is Wildcat Will (William Blanchard) initially abandoned his art path for rock ’n’ roll as the drummer of bands that include Jamiroquai, Shakespeare’s Sister, Beth Orton and Death in Vegas for almost two decades. Then, after being introduced to graffiti and street art, and working with Ben Eine – Will became inspired by those using the street as their canvas and the rest is art history…
  • Together with photographer Denis O’ Regan, Beth Cullen-Kerridge, Dan Rawlings, Lauren Baker, The Cameron Twins, Robi Walters, Fin DAC, Alexander de Cadenet, Bex Leigh, Carne Griffiths , Chloe Natalia, Day-z, Gabriella Anouk, Jim Threapleton, Mark Beattie, Raul,  The Connor Brothers, Wildcat Will, Willkay.
The West Contemporary show – XX  will run 28th March to 1st April 2023 at Gallery Different- London
