/gal-le-rì-a/ Sylvio Giardina’s performance and presentation SS23 haute couture collection in Rome conceived by Sylvio Giardina and Alessio De Navasques

Dear Shaded Viewers,

The French Embassy in Italy hosted a site specific performative presentation, conceived by the artist and designer Sylvio Giardina and Alessio De Navasques during the presentation of his SS23 haute couture collection.

The performative exhibition, created especially for the occasion of the presentation of the SS23 haute couture collection, crosses the Sala dell’Ercole Farnese, the Galleria di Murano up to the Galleria dei Carracci, in a dialogue between contemporary art and métiers d’art, which unites Italy and France. The performative presentation also pays homage to some emblematic halls of Palazzo Farnese, symbols of the dialogue between the two countries in Rome.

/gal-le-rì-a/ marks the 10th anniversary of Sylvio Giardina. The event is organized with the support of Archeometra.
Sylvio Giardina was born in Paris but his roots are Sicilian. After graduating from Accademia di Costume e di Moda, he began working at the Fernanda Gattinoni maison where side by side with the legendary couturier he learnt how to plan and design a Haute Couture collection. Sylvio was one of the founders of the Grimaldi Giardina brand and after 12 years he embarked upon a new fashion adventure with his eponymous brand “Sylvio Giardina”.
