“Amazone Erogène” par -M- feat. Ibeyi | EVENEMENT at the Bon Marche – text and photos by Marco De Rivera

Dear Shaded Viewers,

The current installation at the Bon Marche Rive Gauche is by the artist Prune Nourry who practices sculpture, video, installation and performance. Her art questions notions of gender, femininity, genetics and our relationship to our body. The work is between aesthetic and symbolic.

The installation at the Bon Marche Rive Gauche is an extension of the series “Catharsis” that was exhibited in 2019 at Galerie Templon. Prune Nourry is inspired by the myth of the Amazons, whose legend has it that they mutilated their right breast in order to be the best archers. The artist plays with the symbols that are characteristic to the warrior and composes an installation around three major elements: the breast-shaped target, the bow and the arrows.
