Dear Shaded Viewers,

This season Kim Jones, the artistic director at Dior Homme as if you did not know…took his inspiration from a group of paintings, finger paintings, by the Ghanaian painter Amoako Boafo. Kim grew up in Africa and had always wanted to bring Africa into his work “Portrait of an Artist,” is just that. Amoako Boafo is a Ghanaian painter based in Vienna and is known for his portraits of black subjects.

When Kim was in Miami for Art Basel Miami,  he discovered his work. The styling and the prints are reflective of this inspiration.

Later,

Diane
