Dear Shaded Viewers,

The artist Michael James O’Brien has been photographing diverse subjects for the past 30 years. He is currently the associate chair of photography at SCAD.

April 27 th – June 7th SCAD presents “We Have Translated Each Other Into Light,” which features 90 works from 1987-2017. On the same day, April 27th Michael James O’Brien will also  be exhibited in Creative Rage which opens in the UK and includes work of Derek Jarman. The poster above features our mutual friend, Mr. Pearl, photographed by Michael James O’Brien.

On June 15th the group exhibition Breaking Myth opens in Palermo for Manifesta12 which runs to November. Michael James O’Brien has 22 works inspired by Ovid, Cavafy and David Bowie. Michael James O’Brien will be there along with 5 other artists for the opening and talks.
