JULIEN DAVID FW 15/16 – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI PHOTOS BY SHOJI FUJII

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Spontaneous and refreshing, Julien David's last collection was an ironic nod to business attire, deconstructing tailoring classics by mixing them with his signature sportswear and quirky accessories, including beaded headbands, aluminium briefcases and an exclusive eyewear collaboration with Oakley Frogskins, sold at Colette in Paris. A tropical velvet fabric seemed to conjure up memories of forgotten holidays, while military green -a leitmotiv shade on Paris runways this week- was used for breathable parkas and lightweight jackets. David reinterpreted the peacoat to make it more urban, and knitted fabrics gave a sense of modern ease to tailored shapes. It was a playful and inspiring show.

Best,

Philippe
