Dear Shaded Viewers,
I had such a fun afternoon yesterday with Michele Lamy. I was picked up in a nice, comfortable big black van and then off we went to pick up Michele's friends, Mathieu and Pascal, and then we got Michele's daughter, Scarlett Rouge and her lovable beagle. I might add the beagle was super sweet with the softest ears ever, like velvet to the touch. The initial destination was a brunch at Thaddaeus Ropac Pantin and a walk through the Group Show, Empire State, New York Now which included works by Dan Graham, Shadi Habib Allah, Jeff Koons, Takeshi Murata , many others and Julien Schnabel, who by the way does not like instagram so, so much for a shot of him. After a quick brunch where none of us ate, we went to Cafe Flore then off to the Tullieres to walk the dog and then it was a celebration for the Galette des Rois, the biggest one I've ever seen, at the home of Natalie Obadia and Daniel Templon. As we were leaving the French Director, Agnes Varda walked in Michele introduced me to her, I would have loved to chat with her but we were leaving and she was just arriving. Then back in the big black van and my lovely afternoon came to an end. There was also a really funny story with Yvonne Lambert, he came to sit with the three of us where we played a guessing game to figure out who he was. Was he one of the artists hanging on the walls…the Obadia/Templon's apartment has a totally hypnotic collection of art. They both have galeries so it is not so much of a surprise. Another guest was the French right-wing UMP party candidate to the UMP primary for the 2014 municipal elections, Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet. If she gets elected as Mayor of Paris she will be the first female leader in 2,000-year history.
Later,
Diane
