Birla Academy of Art and Culture presents

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Years ago at the initiative of his teacher Zowie Broach aka BOUDICCA, Hormazd Narielwalla left fashion behind and decided to focus on art. For him it was giving new life to bespoke tailoring patterns to create complex collages. His latest work which will be on display at India Art Fair, New Delhi, from 30 January to 2nd February 2014, explores the blurring lines between fashion and art and the tensions that lie betweenfiguration and abstraction. He draws inspiration from fashion and lifestyle magazines published in Paris between 1897 and 1983. Similar to Vassilis Zidianakis aka ATOPOS , RRRIPP,  Narielwalla uses patterns as his point of departure.

The solo exhibition of Narielwalla’s work marks the entrance of the Birla Academy of Art and Culture at the India Art Fair, while simultaneously extending its commitment to showcasing high quality contemporary art both domestically and internationally.
