I could not say we were best friends but our paths did cross in NYC in the 80’s. We were frequently at the Mudd Club…I remember him during the ‘Ballgown’ show where I was part of a group exhibition and it was before he started to make money, he was wearing a pair of glasses that he painted neon white and taped the arm back on because he did not have the cash to buy a new pair, anyway he made them look great with flo gaffer tape.. his parties at the Paradise Garage were the best and he is the one that introduced me and my friend Zacky to Plastic in Milan where he was going out with the DJ and was putting up his one man show in a Milan Gallery. He did all the paintings for the show in just a few days.
