Charlotte Rampling performs for Dirk Bogarde in 'The Night Porter'
Earlier this week, Test Presents hosted the sixth screening in their ongoing monthly
event series at the Town Hall Hotel. This time their co-host was designer Roksanda Ilincic
who chose to screen Liliana Cavani's 'The Night Porter', a film which focuses on
the rekindled sado-masochistic relationship between Dirk Bogarde's former SS officer
and Charlotte Rampling's former concentration camp inmate and remains controversial
even by today's standards. Ilincic introduced the film with Test Presents host Alyn Horton
and explained how the precariously balanced beauty of the film and the darkness of
its subject matter had been a source of inspiration for her unique brand of beautifully
crafted 'demi-couture'. Alyn also announced that Test were now working with
the British Fashion Council to co-curate the fashion film schedule and events for London
Fashion Week in February next year.
