Another Motion of Pictures from 19-28th February at Centre Pompidou. Hors Pistes, is a cultural event that was created in 2006 and focuses on the new ways of using contemporary images and shows the breaks and shifts which emerge in traditional forms of film and narrative.
The 5th edition draws particular attention to the new self-produced images. It asserts the role of the Internet and of amateur creations in our contemporary iconography. A You Tube "found footage" evening will play on these home made images.
The Hors Pistes guest, will take over the kitchen of the House: Inaki Aizpitarte, chef at the Chateaubriand, "enfant terrible" of the culinary new wave, offers a menu of delicious films, of sweet and sour videos and orchestrates the opening night with the help of "appetite usherettes".
Andrea Crews is the artist-in-residence, the Hors Pistes guest, and her collective led by Maroussia Rebecq who works between art and fashion, creates a sewing workshop to transform dead stocs of clothes in a Hors Pistes winter collection. Hors Pistes will end with an off-piste fashion show.
