I didn’t know that there was an art museum in the City of Torrance, a small city within the Greater Los Angeles Area. Now I do. The Torrance Art Museum. www.torranceartmuseum.com
Recently, I attended the opening of Nancy Braver’s exhibit, entitled “Nancy Braver: Plastic,” a collection of beautiful sculptures manufactured from clear and colored, laser cut acrylics. Unfortunately, what the photos can’t show is the incredible (and sometimes disorienting) sense of movement that occurs when walking around the perimeter of each piece. Although I’ve only known her for a reasonably short time, I think Nancy is very smart, very talented and a lot of fun. If I were a clever gallerist, I would be banging on Nancy’s door, as I imagine Nancy will be very big, very soon…

Guests, Kate Gilbert and Alia Malley.
At a Jeremy Scott fashion show in Los Angeles, Paris and Nikki Hilton signed the ass of Kate Gilbert’s jeans. This is Paris’s half of Kate’s ass.

“Nancy Braver : Plastic” is on view until 10 December 05.
