Dear Shaded Viewers,
You can count on Nuno Gama to come up with a real fashion extravaganza, complete with acting, performance, music and dance. His last menswear show, which was unveiled during ModaLisboa, explored different nations having an intimate link with Portuguese history, while playing with sartorial traditions. India, Japan and Africa were on the designer's mind, who chose prints and inventive layering to update his signature tailoring. The African part of his show was the best, with daring color combinations and striking prints, as well as beautiful leather pieces. Brightly colored half-circles were fun, used on cotton t-shirts or fitted lambskin bombers. The designer's use of intricate patterns -mixed with stripes and large checks- was also fearless, hinting at exotic holidays and faraway lands. Worn with baroque-looking leopard print leggings, his impeccably tailored styles were alluring and strong, with that unmistakable shot of Gama testosterone.
Best,
Philippe
