Charo / A book published by La Ribagorzana This is not a book about Margiela; it is about a never-to-be-repeated collection that is now but a memory-A collection by Alex G. Cano Photographed by Daniel Riera Text by Charo Mora

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Last month I was in Bilbao invited by my friend Rosa Orrantia, the founder of Persuade, to celebrate Margiela with a screening at the Guggenheim of We Margiela. If you follow this blog you will have seen all of the day into night events including the screening, an exhibition, a party and the launch of the beautiful book CHARO. Today the post delivered my own copy of this beautiful book.

I wish that I could tell you about the anonymous collector but I am sworn to secrecy. What I can say is that hidden in a remote valley of the Pyrenees in Huesca, a 16th century Stone abbey treasured one of the most comprehensive private collections of Martin Margiela designs will ever be seen. Photographed by Daniel Riera, this book reveals the true story behind the anonymous collector.

Charo is the farewell to a deeply personal, one-off collection, the final hurrah before each piece sets off along a new path, a snapshot of a disintegrating universe giving rise to others.

This is not a book about Margiela; it is about a never-to-be-repeated collection that is now but a memory. It is about that kind of immanent beauty that lives on to inspire other beautiful things, other lives. Lovers of Margiela, this book is a treasure.
