Dear Diane and dear Shaded viewers,
Alberto Biani unveiled yesterday his Tropical Gangster collection . This season, the Italian designer drew his inspiration from the Carribean. Silk waistcoast, slightly undone shirts and cady trousers give women a rogue look. A vintage daisy print joint to Savile Row inspired tartans boldly cracks the feminine/masculine codes. Elegance prevails though, the balance is restored by the silhouettes, halfway on a blurred line, oversized and slim at the same time. Biani’s dichotomic game lies in this idea. The ensemble pays homage to the past but with the freedom of today’s woman, a liberty experience that stretches until the skin since one of the Italian house’s desire is to confectionate comfortable clothes as well.
During his career, Alberto Biani has been working with the greatest from Valentino to Martin Margiela. The know-how gained through the years clearly stands in his ability of choosing the adapted fabrics, textures and colours to provide the wanted emotion. This results in a thoughtful work of which every piece has a story to tell , nothing is left to chance.
