Dear Diane and dear Shaded viewers,
Former Head of Volkswagen Group Design, Walter De Silva has chosen the freshly reopened Parisian palace Le Ritz to present his first collection of shoes “Noir Extreme” during Paris Fashion Week.
With this new turn in his career, the designer pursues a longtime dream, his love for shoes which has been transmitted to him by his grandfather who was a shoemaker in Milan.
Through his creations, De Silva brings women shoes to a whole new level. The energy and the technique of car industry are slightly pregnant thanks to the use of diverse materials such as leather, lizard skin or carbon and the alliance between warm orange, as a tribute to Italy, and deep black that the italian designer describes as “simple, elegant, and sexy. Black is zero” brings movement to the collection.
The heels as well testify De Silva’s strong architectural legacy .
Walter De Silva considers his work as slow fashion and projects to release one collection a year only in order to take time to deliver work of “an uncompromising quality”. All of the shoes are created and made in Italy, in collaboration with Sergio and Gianvito Rossi.
