PALM ANGELS FW 16 – BY ALICE DEVELEY

Dear Diane and Shaded viewers,

Palm Angels was once again very surprising this fashion week. And surprising is an euphemism. Mixing noble tissues and street styles with Jamaican and skaters influences, the fall/winter collection of the creator Francesco Ragazzi this year, was really offbeat and unique. In the Palais des Beaux Arts overlooking the Seine, the artist has imagined a rasta parade, freely inspired by the music of Bob Marley, Exodus.

« I started this collection with a picture in mind : a rasta kid skating I photographed in LA. The song of bob Marley suddenly became the soundtrack of this collection. There is a strong and positive message in this song that I find very contemporary : we are the generation» explained Ragazzi. Guided by this idea, the creator has unveiled a unisex collection, combining smart suits, flared trousers, skulls and biker jackets. It was dared but according to the audience, very successful. Palm Angels has captured in his garments the motto of an entire generation : « we need change ».

Best,

Alice
