TONY WARD A/W – BY ALICE DEVELEY

Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,

Tony Ward filled us with happiness. In the temple of Art, under the majestuous ceiling of the Oratoire du Louvre, the artist has joined the greatest with a kaleidoscope of creations. Inspired from minerals, nature's precious treasures, with their geometrical shapes, colors and textures, he created the Autumn/Winter 15/16 collection with a skillful assembly of new techniques.  Embroideries, noble materials like organza or jacquard blend hve recreate nature's true sensations. As if tissues were espousing the elements, garments have turned into leaves, dawns or twilights and starry nights. Pure and evanescent, models have paraded, levitating with grace and delight pleasure. Tony Ward has transported us with this Autumn/Winter 15/16 collection into the center of the Earth, where ultra-meticulous work was necessary to recreate the crystalline shapes that take millennia to form, shedding the light on all the poetry and sweetness nature offers us. A true creator.

Best,

Alice
