‘PAULINE A LA PLAGE’ EXHIBITION IN GALLERY DE MULTIPLES – BY ALICE DEVELEY

Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,

sometimes, without asking why, our eyes stop and images come to our minds. In the Galerie de Multiples, in the very heart of artists' streets, photographies of Rohmer's movies are dispossessing us. Like full-life paintings on white walls, pictures are conversing with us and telling us to let go. This is not a question of describing images but of seing them. Suddenly a knee in a frame is no longer a part of a body but an opened-book capable of transporting us in a foreign landscape. With poetry and delicacy, the exhibition lets the spectator re-discovers parts of Rohmer's talent through art objects. In an uncluttered universe praising emotions and desires before flesh consumption, the artists of the gallery have redefined with brilliance the unique spirit of the film director. A haven of peace and freshness, ideal for dreaming…
