I recently visited Clayoquot Wilderness Resort for the first time. After a smooth 45-min seaplane ride from Vancouver, I was greeted by the sweetest staff on horse drawn carriage and taken to a small tented village running parallel to Bedwell River at the edge of Strathcona Provincial Park in British Columbia.
The resort is in great part newly assembled each summer with luxury tent accommodations set up along a boardwalk that extends from the mouth of the river into the woods. En suite showers have been added to several tents this year.
Cuisine at Clayoquot is remarkable, considerably varied for its remote location, and always available at the main lounge. Private tent dining is also a nice option for a special night.
It's all about the activities at Clayoquot. Kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, and of course spa are just a small selection. The next few shots are from a whale watching trip around Vancouver Island. A new canine friend quietly snuck onto our boat as we were leaving. He was good luck. We saw several gray and humpback whales.
I just want to walk into these trees and live there forever!

Return to the city. I left wanting to go back almost right away.
