Dear Shaded Viewers,

I'm here in Rio again, this time for Carnaval as a guest of ABIT (Brazilian Textile & Apparel Industry Association). We watched the first night of samba school parades from the ABIT/APEX VIP box which was right next to the Devassa box where Paris Hilton was watching the show. The whole night was truly a mind-blowing experience. A few of succumbed to Stendhal Syndrome. Tonight we are actually marching in the parade in costumes, should be a trip.

The Uniao da Ilha samba school's theme was "Dom Quixote de la Mancha."

"Michael Jackon" danced on a float that was decorated with images of space aliens. I think it was meant to be an homage to the "Weekly World News."
