A VISIT TO DRIES VAN NOTEN’S SHOWROOM – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Visiting Dries Van Noten's showroom during Paris Fashion Week is always a treat, observing his latest fabric research, as well as his intensive work on print and color. I was impressed with the multicolored jacquards he used this season, as well as the variety of motifs on display. Van Noten's clothes are becoming increasingly bold and luxurious, but they're also easy to mix and wear. Every piece presented in the showroom looked comfortable and stylish, suiting different moods and body types. With a growing accessory range -including shoes, bags, scarves and sunglasses- the Belgian designer keeps on perfecting his own signatures. The collection was like a trip to a wonderful fantasy land, bringing Woodstock hippies and Pre-Raphaelite paintings to mind.

Best,

Philippe
