FASHIONCLASH FESTIVAL 2016 / ALESSANDRO TRINCONE – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI PHOTOS BY TEAM PETER STIGTER

Dear Shaded Viewers,

An Italian graduate from the prestigious POLIMODA school in Florence, Alessandro Trincone presented a dreamy and poetic menswear collection, where hints of japonisme were given the androgyny treatment. A powdery palette of chic pastels and virginal white complemented tailored volumes and cascading ruffles, while long pleated skirts looked strangely masculine, bringing Korean traditional wear to mind. The romantic and slightly eerie feel of the collection was emphasized by Trincone’s handmade accessories, from airy headpieces to intriguing parasols. The eccentric flair of his creations did not, however, distract from his precise cuts and smart choice of fabrics. Mysterious and emotional, Trincone’s show helped him scoop the Fashionclash Festival Talent Award 2016, given by the mayor of Maastricht.

Best,

Philippe
