Joe Reihsen has his second solo show at The Hole, Structural Color. These paintings are made by transferrin paint from one canvas to another on plastic, smoothing parts of the plastic down to select areas of paint, moving the armature to a new work to press the paint onto the new surface. A similar technique ‘decalcomania’ was pioneered by the Surrealists.
