Dumitrascu and her vanity /blind collection

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I loved the idea of this season’s  intimate presentation, last edition was more public as it literally took place at the Paris metro. This season you walked into an incense filled apartment overloaded with objects, paintings, red like a fire or the inside of a womb with hypnotic music being played by the DJ of choice of the designer Andra Dumitrascu. Actually I forgot to tell you that one of the first things you see when you walk in are the tarot card and crystal ball readers and you know I had to sit down for a short reading before even looking at the collection.. It was a great reading by the way. There were 4 rooms with different things going on in each, the main living room is where I sat down and had a little chat with Andra Dumitrascu, the Berlin based designer behind the brand. Click on it above… She told me that the collection was based on the themes of vanity and blindness. Blindness like when you look at the sun and you see nothing but colors like red, pink and orange. She even had small sunglasses made that you could not see through that some of the models wore and walked in blindly, but I must say gracefully. Excuse the portrait, totally out of focus, of Andra and her DJ, maybe I was more in the mood of the collection than I thought… Fabrics felt like skin, sensual and a little damp…they appeared super comfortable.

Later,

Diane
