Neith Nyer ode to the early 80’s and family memories…photos by Leo D’Oriano

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Every now and then I receive a press release that really amuses or enchants me. I got a laugh out of the PR from Neith Nyer. The pre-fall Nyer collection is an ode to the 80’s and how the creative director of the brand, Francisco Terra, remembers staying home watching films while the parents were out at the city’s “Bad Taste Ball”. He remembers their looks with huge shoulder pads, shiny vinyl bombers and tight dresses, black lipstick. The key silhouettes of the collection are inspired by family photos contextualizing the excess of the period by using materials that form the DNA of NN, ruffles, fake fur, tight silhouettes rendered in waxed cotton and ribbed velvet to give a rebirth to the looks.
